For our June meeting we enjoyed a light hearted quiz, organised by Mavis Chambers. We were divided into six teams and were initially challenged to identify nursery rhymes from the initial letters of the words in the first line. This had us scratching our heads and thinking a long way back, although the results were encouraging and one team managed all thirty. Then followed rounds of recognising names of flowers and towns or cities from cryptic clues. Plenty of chat was evident during the refreshment break, which altogether made for a very enjoyable evening.
Reminders were given of the group’s participation in running the cake stall at the church fete on Saturday July 6th and a request was made for tombola prizes for our fundraising evening in October.
On 3rd July we are having our annual trip out, which this year is to the Crich Tramway Village, leaving from outside church at 10am and sharing cars.
