THE WOMEN’S GROUP VISIT RENISHAW HALL GARDENS
On Wednesday 4th July eighteen members of the Women’s Group visited Renishaw Hall Gardens on a beautiful sunny day. We all enjoyed wandering in the gardens and commented on the contrast between the more formal Gardens and the shady wooded areas. The paths led easily from one area to another and it was easy to find shady quiet seats in which to keep cool and to enjoy the surroundings.
We had our large garden at home redesigned last year and I especially enjoyed the herbaceous borders, trying to visualise ours in a few years’ time. There was a particularly stunning display of delphiniums in a variety of colours.
After looking around the gardens we finished off with afternoon tea in the cafe where we enjoyed freshly baked scones, sandwiches and cakes and plentiful cups of tea or coffee.
We are grateful to the volunteer drivers for ensuring that everyone had a lift there and back.
There is no meeting in August but we are hosting the coffee morning on Saturday 1st September and the speaker at our meeting on Wednesday 5th September at 7pm in the Parish Room will be from the RSPB (this is a change from our programme issued to members in March).
