NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP JUNE 2018
On 6th June Stephanie Parkes kindly returned to take us to the warm and sunny Caribbean by continuing with her experiences on the island of Tobago with her family in the 1990’s. We sensed the atmosphere of the various church festivals and the annual island carnival, which occupied everyone’s thoughts throughout the year. Also, we learned more about the local food, including the generosity shown by the neighbouring community, and the resident wildlife. It was interesting to hear of how the children adjusted to life here on their return to England.
Our next meeting will be our outing to Renishaw Hall on Wednesday, 4th July, when we will be leaving from outside church at 1.15pm in shared cars. As well as looking at the lovely gardens, arrangements have been made for refreshments, with the opportunity to look at the Sitwell Museum and shop as well.
