NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP
On 1st July, the hottest day of the year, sixteen members and friends travelled by coach to visit The Dukeries Garden Centre at Welbeck. Soon after our arrival, when fortunately we were all under cover, we experienced a violent thunderstorm, accompanied by lots of rain, but even this had no effect on the high temperature. However, we made the most of viewing the garden centre items, furniture, clothes and gifts, as well as the farm shop, which has much local produce for sale. Refreshments, including cream teas, were enjoyed at the café.
There is no meeting in August, the next being on 2nd September, when we will start at the new regular time of 7pm, with Julie Franks giving a flower arranging demonstration.
Anyone, not necessarily from St John’s Church, who would like to join this friendly group, would be made very welcome.
