NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP
The January meeting was well attended considering the very windy and wet evening. After the business, when Ruth again reminded members that a new leader was required for next year, which begins after the AGM in March; she asked someone to come forward.
Ruth then introduced Stuart Watkinson, our speaker. His talk was “Iceland, Land of Fire and Ice”. We were entranced by the amazing scenery of this island. Stuart explained the reasons behind the numerous glaciers and boiling geysers, and you could have heard a pin drop. Once again, a very interesting evening and well worth braving the elements for. Nothing compared to the elements in Iceland, of course!
The next meeting will be on 4th February at 7.30pm, in the Parish Room, when Sue Spriggs and Jean Hartley will talk about their “Pearl One, Knit One” scheme.
