WOMEN’S GROUP
Newbold Women’s Group on 1st May had a very well attended meeting, and welcomed a new member, Janet Warburton. Our speaker, PCSO Rebecca King talked about crime, the ways in which it can be reduced and the actions to take if affected by crime. Rebecca brought samples of marker pens, which write in invisible ink, only detected by special equipment used by the police. She also gave out purse chains for added security during shopping trips.
Many questions were asked and Rebecca answered these with patience and understanding. She was able to stay for a cup of tea and distributed leaflets with information and tips for keeping oneself and ones homes safe.
The food list for the BBQ on 5th June was sent round and members were told about the outing to Edensor on 3rd July. The meeting concluded at 9pm enabling everyone to return home before darkness fell.
Any ladies are welcome to join our group. You do NOT have to be a church member. For more information please ring our secretary Mrs Jean Lee on 01246 237778 or myself on 01246 450797.
