Women’s Group February 2013

NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP

Ruth welcomed 25 members to theAGM.  Normally this falls in March but as Ruth will be absent then, it was decided by the committee to hold it a month early.

Ruth opened the meeting with prayers, especially remembering all who are ill at this time.  The minutes of the 2012AGMhad been circulated and were agreed as correct.  No elections were required as the leader and committee were prepared to serve for a further year in office.  The Treasurer was away, but her report and the accounts were handed out.   Club funds were shown to be very satisfactory so the subscriptions will remain the same this year and are due in March.

Some suggestions were made for future speakers and outings etc.

The charity voted for this year, is the PDSA.

Ruth thanked her committee for their work over the year and reminded members that it was their club and everything would be done to try to please most members as much as possible.

The business was concluded at8pmand cheese and wine was enjoyed by all.  The raffle was drawn and there was lots of chatter.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th March at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Stuart Watkinson, who will give an illustrated talk on the Balkans.  This is a meeting not to be missed ladies!!

Finally, Mavis Chambers thanked the leader and committee for all their efforts to make the club a happy and successful one.
