NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP OCTOBER 2019
At our October meeting we had another illustrated talk by Steve Williams, who is an active member of Chesterfield RSPB and Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and is very interested in nature, which he applies to his passion for photography. The main topic of his superb photographs was a visit to the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Of the many animals covered were lions, elephants, cheetah, leopards, zebras, giraffes and numerous species of antelope. He had observed the annual migration of wildebeest in the region and included a video of many of them crossing a river, a wonderful spectacle. Lots of colourful and different birds were included, as well as some smaller animals. With an interesting narrative on his pictures it made a very enjoyable evening. This was ideal, as it was our annual fundraising event and we had a tombola during the interval. The evening raised £85, which was for the NewBOLD Church Building Project.
Help with refreshments and serving was requested when the group runs the church coffee morning on Saturday, 2nd November.
On 6th November we will be going for our annual meal out, which this year is to the Peacock at Cutthorpe. Cars will leave from outside church at 6.30pm.
