NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP SEPTEMBER 2018
On 5th September Steve Williams, a keen photographer and wildlife enthusiast, gave us an impressive presentation of beautiful wildlife pictures. The main focus was on Scottish fauna, including different angles on red squirrels, mountain hares, pine martens and crested tits, all species either never or rarely seen in England. He also included other creatures more familiar to us, his explanation of the behaviour of the various subjects suitably enhancing the pictorial side.
Our next meeting will be our fundraising event on Wednesday, 3rd October, when local musician Phil Rylance will entertain us with songs and tales of the 1960’s, when he was closely involved in the music business. The Men’s Group has been invited and anyone will be welcome to join us for what should be a memorable evening. There will be a tombola and all proceeds will go to Pathways, which helps the homeless in Chesterfield, and is our chosen charity for the year.
