Newbold Women’s Group Meeting July 2016

THE WOMEN’S GROUP HAVE A QUIZ NIGHT

The Women’s Group participated in a Derbyshire themed quiz evening on Wednesday 6th July.

Before the quiz began Claire Lee brought our attention to the Public Consultation that has just begun concerning proposed changes to the care of older people in our area, particularly those with dementia and their carers. More important information can be found at www.joinedupcare.org.uk

The first part of the quiz included some multiple choice questions as well as anagrams and some took a well educated guess to the question “Lady St. Loe is better known by another name. Who was she?”  The answer being Bess of Hardwick as Sir William Loe was her third husband.

After refreshments when several members asked Claire about her concerns the teams were mixed up for the picture quiz which followed.

Several members said afterwards how much they had enjoyed the evening which was certainly borne out by lots of laughter throughout the evening.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 7th September at 7pm in the Parish Room when there will be a presentation on The Black and White Buildings in Chesterfield. All ladies are welcome to join us.                                                                                     Jean Lee
