Newbold Women’s Group Meeting April 2016
The group had a very interesting evening on April 6th when three members from Hasland Theatre Company entertained us. First of all one of the group gave us the history of the company which has almost completed its 69th season of plays. This was followed by each member talking about how they came to join the company and then they each gave a series of varied and sometimes humorous readings of their own choice. We all really enjoyed the evening and hope to arrange a visit for our group at a later date to one of their productions during their 70th season. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 4th May at 7pm.in the Parish Room and is a talk and advice from a representative of AGE UK. We are holding a Summer Celebration in The Eyre Chapel on Wednesday 1st June at 7pm. This is open for all ladies and we have planned a delicious buffet supper with “pink fizz” to drink. The trio Dream a Little Dream are to provide the musical entertainment. There will also be a Tombola to raise money for this year’s chosen charity which is The Alzheimers Society. Tickets for this event cost £8 and will be available at our May meeting or from either Pat Law or myself. Jean Lee
