NEWBOLD WOMEN’S GROUP
Our meeting in April was definitely spring-like. Jean Lee organised an Easter quiz. Three teams tied with top marks. It was Iris Moore, who answered the tie-breaker as she had been in Bermuda when kites were flown at Easter, winning the prizes for her team. About ten members had decorated Easter bonnets. They were all wonderful creations but the Easter egg was won by Maureen Higginbottom, whose hat had chicks on actual cupcakes on the top!
Father Nigel, who had judged the competition, joined us for hot cross buns and tea/coffee. Information was given out about the Strawberry Tea on 3rd June and the afternoon outing to the Dukeries Garden Centre on 1st July. Anybody, not necessarily from St. John’s Church, who would like to join this friendly group, would be made very welcome.
