Diocesan Conference, 16th October
The conference was held at the Winding Wheel attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield and took the form of Rwanda Market with every Deanery providing a stall. The income from this event will be donated to the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal. During the morning there were two speakers. Mrs Sue Wilson spoke of her visit to Rwanda and also on the success of the M.U. Parenting Programme in that country. Mr David Rawson, a representative from Water Aid demonstrated how the water purification equipment worked, facilitating an immediate supply of clean water. He also demonstrated the Aqua Box which holds up to 62 items, such as small toys or nails, all of which would be put to good use in the villages in Rwanda.
