This window is in memory of Joseph Bromehead and family and dates to 1903. The Bromeheads were the largest landowners in Newbold and lived in Newbold House which was where Derwent House Care Home and several blocks of council flats are today. The window shows the story described in Luke’s gospel of Mary with the infant Jesus in the temple in Jerusalem. Simeon is also featured – he was promised by God that he would not die until he had seen the Saviour
