SUNDAY SCHOOL PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS
ALL AGE HARVEST THANKSGIVING SERVICE
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
On Sunday 9th October we celebrated harvest. After welcoming our new Rector, we thanked God for all the good things we enjoy and often take for granted, like food and clean water.
Children brought up food for the Food Bank and adults made monetary donations.
During the service we used seeds during our saying sorry to God prayers.
Potatoes reminded us that we have EYES to see all that God has created. Corn on the Cob reminded us that we have EARS to hear God call us by name. A bunch of bananas reminded us that we have HANDS to do Gods work with acts of compassion. Cabbage (cut up) reminded us that we have HEARTS to love God and to love one another.
The Children coloured fruit and vegetables for our display board as pictured above.
Our September All Age Family Service on took the theme of deciding to follow Jesus. We said sorry to God with actions; walked around church for the Gospel reading. During prayers everyone wrote something on a leaf that they were worried/concerned about or needed help with in the coming week these were then pinned to a tree.
During fellowship time the children had a tower building contest and the they made a poster showing how they could follow Jesus.
