Newbold Parish Church
Welcome to the website for Newbold Parish Church. Newbold Parish Church is a place of worship, fellowship, prayer, fun, laughter, and above all a place for people to encounter God – Father, Son & Holy Spirit!
Our worship style varies depending on which service you attend.
8.00am Holy Communion (said)
9.30am Holy Communion (with hymns)
11.00am The 11 o’clock service (2nd & 3rd Sunday each month)
11.30am Holy Baptism (1st & 3rd Sunday each month)
Our 8am and 9.30am services are traditional common worship eucharistic services (with a broadly modern catholic feel). Children also attend ‘Jigsaw’ activity sessions during our 9.30am service in term time (1st and 3rd Sunday each month).
Our 11 o’clock service takes place on the 2nd & 3rd Sunday each month. It is more informal and includes multi-media and interactive elements to our worship. It aims to be family friendly and also to welcome those with little, or no, experience of church. We are always pleased to see new faces!
Our Tuesday Service takes place in the Parish Room (behind the church). We meet for communion followed by fellowship over tea and coffee.
Tuesday 9.15 Holy Communion (said)
Newbold Parish Church was consecrated in 1857 and ever since has served its seemingly ever-growing Parish. We have strong links with Newbold Church Primary School, as well as associations with other organisations, including a Pre-School and Toddler Group.
Our full name is: St John the Evangelist Church, Newbold. We are in the Church of England Parish of Newbold with Dunston, which is in the Deanery of North East Derbyshire; the Archdeaconry of Chesterfield; the Diocese of Derby, and the Province of Canterbury.
